given a triangle with a perimeter of 56in. we know the first side is 3 inches less than twice the length of the second side, and

the third side is 10 inches more than half the length of the second side. if the second side length is h, how long is the longest side? write an equation to solve for the variable.

Answer:

Side A = 25 in

Side B = 14 in

Side C = 17 in

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of a triangle = 56 in

Side B = x

Side A = 2x - 3

Side C = 1/2x + 10

Perimeter of a triangle = side A + Side B + side C

56 = (2x -3) + x + (1/2x + 10)

56 = 2x - 3 + x + 1/2x + 10

56 + 3 - 10 = 2x + x + 1/2x

49 = 3 1/2x

Note: 3 1/2x = 3.5x

49 = 3.5x

x = 49/3.5

x = 14 in

Side B = x = 14 in

Side A = 2x - 3

= 2(14) - 3

= 28 - 3

= 25 in

Side C = 1/2x + 10

= 1/2(14) + 10

= 7 + 10

= 17 in

The number of bacteria in a certain population increases according to a continuous exponential growth model, with a growth rate
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

It will take 47 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

We can have the exponential function as follows;

P = I( 1 + r)^n

if the initial value was x , the final will be 2x

The change rate is 1.5% , which is r, this is same as;

1.5/100 = 0.015

So what we want to calculate is the n attached

This will be;

2x = x ( 1 + 0.015)^n

2 = 1.015^n

ln 2 = n ln 1.015

n = ln 2/ln 1.015

n = 46.55

This is approximately 47 hours

A metal washer is made by cutting out a circle 13.2 mm in diameter from a larger circle. To the nearest tenth, what is the area
Lana71 [14]
The area of the washer will be the area of the smaller circle SUBTRACTED from the area of the larger circle.

Area of a circle = pi * r^2 where r is your radius (which is half the diameter).
Larger circle area = pi *(diameter/2) ^2.
Smaller circle area = pi * (13.2/2)^2 = pi * 6.6^2 = 136.8484....

So...the area of the washer = larger circle area - 136.4848...

Use mulipation to find 2 equivalent fractions
laila [671]
1/2 is equivalent to 2/4 because,

2(1/2) = 2/4

So as you can see if you multiply the numerator(top) and the denominator(bottom) by the same number, you get an equivalent fraction! In my example you can see that I multiplied both by 2.
