Answer:

1) They can kill Other Unintended Organisms

2) Some of the Pests might be Resistant to the Pesticide, Meaning the Pesticide no Longer Works on the Pests

3) They can Bioaccumulate in the Food Chain

Explanation:

1) Bugs need for the proper growth of plants are often killed by pesticides, often from wind blowing them onto other plants for the bugs

2) Its the same princincle as super bacteria, some bugs will likely survive the pesticide, often because of a mutation, and pass that on as it is advantageous

3) This is the most talked about issue when it comes to pesticides as it is largely blamed for endangering the eagle population in the US - with DDT in particular being pointed to

AfilCa [17]

Answer:

1.Vascular tube is used for vascular surgery and is very small in size with very small diameter and thickness, thus a little change in environment can also affect there result.

2.When testing for tension in the polymer it is very important to consider the strain rate as the increase in strain can cause the material to break. Therefore not only tension test but also strain test is required.

The ability of muscle to shorten forcibly when adequately stimulated is known as ________
Andrej [43]

The ability of muscle to shorten forcibly when adequately stimulated is known as contractility.

Explanation:

 • Contractility is defined as the ability of muscle cells to contract forcefully to bring about movement in body organs.
 • The folding of arms are results of contractility of biceps and triceps.
 • Contractility of cardiac muscle to regulate pumping of heart is again a result of contractility of myocardial muscle.

If 1/8 remains after 21 years, what is the half-life?
vagabundo [1.1K]

Half life formula

The number of unstable nuclei remaining after time t can be determined according to this equation:

N(t) = N(0) * 0.5^(t/T)

where:

N(t) is the remaining quantity of a substance after time t has elapsed.

N(0) is the initial quantity of this substance.

T is the half-life.

It is also possible to determine the remaining quantity of a substance using a few other parameters:

N(t) = N(0) * e^(-t/τ)

N(t) = N(0) * e^(-λt)

τ is the mean lifetime - the average amount of time a nucleus remains intact.

λ is the decay constant (rate of decay).

All three of the parameters characterizing a substance's radioactivity are related in the following way:

T = ln(2)/λ = ln(2)*τ

How to calculate the half life

Determine the initial amount of a substance. For example, N(0) = 2.5 kg.

Determine the final amount of a substance - for instance, N(t) = 2.1 kg.

Measure how long it took for that amount of material to decay. In our experiment, we observed that it took 5 minutes.

Input these values into our half life calculator. It will compute a result for you instantaneously - in this case, the half life is equal to 19.88 minutes.

If you are not certain that our calculator returned the correct result, you can always check it using the half life formula.
