If Tom throws the dart 30 times, the denominator of the fraction would be 30, as that is the total number, and if he actually hits the target 20 times, that would be the nominator of the fraction as that is the amount out of the total that he hits the target. So if the fraction is 20/30 for the times he hits the target, we can say that 10/30 is the fraction (or probability) that he will miss. We can simplify the fraction by dividing 10 on both sides, getting 1/3. On the bottom the question  with the die has 3 scenarios, hit, miss, or neither. it misses when it is 5 or 6, it hits when the die is 1 or 4, and when the die is 2 or 3, nothing happens. as a die has 6 sides, the denominator is 6, and as there is 2 scenarios where you miss the numerator is 2. The fraction or probability for this one, would be 2/6 or 1/3. Using the same math for the following, you can get 1/3 for the die, 1/3 for the first spinner, 1/5 for the first number generator, 1/3 for the second number generator, and 1/3 for the second spinner. As the original part with Tom has a probability of 1/3, we are looking for equal probability, so the correct simulations would then be the die, the first spinner, the second number generator, and the second spinner, while the rest would be incorrect. Hope this helps!<span />

Heron wants to buy a video game. The price is regularly priced at 55 dollars. The store has a discount of 20% off and a sales ta
nadezda [96]

The amount paid by Heron for the video game  is $46.64.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the marked price of the video game  = $55

The discount percentage on the video game  = 20%

Calculating 20% of the $55, we get:

\frac{20}{100}  \times 55  = 11

So, the discount offered on the video game  = $11

Selling Price  = Marked Price  - Discount

                        =$55 - $11 = $44

Now,  the tax percentage on the video game  = 6%

Calculating 6% of the $44, we get:

\frac{6}{100}  \times 44  =2.64

So, the tax  on the video game  = $2.64

New Selling Price  = Selling Price  +  Tax

                        =$44 + $2.64  = $46.64

So, the amount paid by Heron for the video game  is $46.64.

Identify the function as either a constant, direct variation, absolute value or greatest integer function f (x)=-4
boyakko [2]
Answer: Constant

No matter what the input x is, the output f(x) is going to be -4. Therefore, the output is constant.

Note: f(x) can be interchanged with y. So we can say y = -4.

Need help with my homework
Volgvan

Answer:

\displaystyle y=\frac{16-9x^3}{2x^3 - 3}

\displaystyle y=-\frac{56}{13}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Equation Solving</u>

We are given the equation:

\displaystyle x=\sqrt[3]{\frac{3y+16}{2y+9}}

i)

To make y as a subject, we need to isolate y, that is, leaving it alone in the left side of the equation, and an expression with no y's to the right side.

We have to make it in steps like follows.

Cube both sides:

\displaystyle x^3=\left(\sqrt[3]{\frac{3y+16}{2y+9}}\right)^3

Simplify the radical with the cube:

\displaystyle x^3=\frac{3y+16}{2y+9}

Multiply by 2y+9

\displaystyle x^3(2y+9)=\frac{3y+16}{2y+9}(2y+9)

Simplify:

\displaystyle x^3(2y+9)=3y+16

Operate the parentheses:

\displaystyle x^3(2y)+x^3(9)=3y+16

\displaystyle 2x^3y+9x^3=3y+16

Subtract 3y and 9x^3:

\displaystyle 2x^3y - 3y=16-9x^3

Factor y out of the left side:

\displaystyle y(2x^3 - 3)=16-9x^3

Divide by 2x^3 - 3:

\mathbf{\displaystyle y=\frac{16-9x^3}{2x^3 - 3}}

ii) To find y when x=2, substitute:

\displaystyle y=\frac{16-9\cdot 2^3}{2\cdot 2^3 - 3}

\displaystyle y=\frac{16-9\cdot 8}{2\cdot 8 - 3}

\displaystyle y=\frac{16-72}{16- 3}

\displaystyle y=\frac{-56}{13}

\mathbf{\displaystyle y=-\frac{56}{13}}

F(x)= √x-5. find f-2
rodikova [14]

For this case we have:

Be a function of the form y = f (x)

Where:

f (x) = \sqrt {x-5}

If we want to find f (-2), we substitute x = -2, then:

f (-2) = \sqrt {-2-5}\\f (-2) = \sqrt {-7}

Since we have a negative root, the result will be given by complex numbers. By definition:

\sqrt {-1} = i

So:

f (-2) = \sqrt {7} i

Answer:

f (-2) = \sqrt {7} i
