Answer:

Decimal system

Step-by-step explanation:

The present system in Mathematics we use for representing numbers is a system which uses a base of 10.

We write 0 to 9 then next value we shift the digit from units to 10th place and write as 10. Thus we use only digits form 0 to 9, and place values for digits from right are

10^0, 10^1, 10^2,....

For less than 1 we use decimals and use place values from right to left as

10^{-1} ,10^{-2} ,10^{-3} ...

Thus the system we use now is decimal system which has base 10.

Which of the expressions is rational
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

the third one

Step-by-step explanation:

the square root of 25 is 5. 5+2 = 7.

this is a rational number (the set of all integers and fractions).

the other 2 portions contain at least one element that is not rational. and so the sum with such a number is not rational.

45 and 7 are no square numbers, and therefore the square root of these numbers contains a neverending chain of digits after the decimal point without having any repeating pattern. these are real numbers but not rational numbers.

If I owe you $1.76 in overtime pay, you receive $19.50 for each hour of OT. How many hours overtime are you owed?
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer: 0.09 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

You are owed $1.76 in overtime pay.

The hourly rate for overtime is $19.50 per hour.

To find the number of hours owed, you need to divide the amount owed by the amount owed per hour.

The number of hours you are owed is therefore:

= Amount owed / Amount owed per hour

= 1.76 / 19.50

= 0.09 hours

#2) A lifeguard is swimming to a drowning swimmer. The lifeguard's location is at
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

9.43

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for calculating the distance between two points is expressed as

D =√(x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²

Given the coordinates (0,0) and (8,5)

D = √(5-0)²+(8-0)²

D = √5²+8²

D = √25 + 64

D = √89

D = 9.43

Hence the distance between the life guard and the swimmer is 9.43

Exterior angle theorem
16x - 7 = 8x + 2 + 10x - 19    ===>  16x -7 = 18x - 17
16x - 16x - 7 = 18x - 16x - 17 ===> -7 = 2x - 17
-7 + 17 = 2x - 17 + 17             ===> 10 = 2x ======> 5 = x
Plug x in to each equation.
Angle P: 8(5) + 2 = 42 deg, Angle Q: 10(5) - 19 = 31
The sum of interior angles = 180. 180 - 42 -31 = 107 deg (angle of PRQ)
To check that line other angle : 16(5) -7 = 73 deg + 107 = 180 deg
