First you have to find the slope which you would do by labeling your coordinates So -5 is X1 and 3 is X2 and -3 is Y1 and -3 and Y2 is -6. This will help with finding the slope of you equation. So the set up would be Y2-Y1/X2-X1 so the equation would be -6- -3/ 3-5 which would give you 3/2. Then you take one of the coordinate points and your slope in a slope intecpet equation. So -3=3/2(-5)+b then solve. Which would be 9/2 then put you slope and b into a slope intercept equation so y= 3/2x+9/2 then to get it into Standard form you need to move your ex to the other side of the equation so -3/2x+y=9/2 in this equation can be simplified by multiplying two to each side so (2)3/2x+y=9/2(2) which would equal to 3x+2y=9
