What is the key difference between simple interest and compound interest, and how does this difference affect the effectiveness
stealth61 [152]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

The simple interest is calculated only on the principal amount of a loan so it is relatively easier to calculate than the compound interest.

The compound interest is calculated on the principle amount plus the interest that the amount gets per compounding period up to the period of the loan. In other words, in compound interest we get, interest on interest.

This difference between the both, is the reason, we get more money in compound interest than simple one.

Let us take an example-

Suppose the principle is = $5000

r = 5% or 0.05

t = 5 years

Simple interest formula is :

p\times r\times t

=> 5000\times0.05\times5=1250

So, total amount after 5 years will become = 5000+1250=6250 dollars.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets check for compound interest where the interest is compounded annually.

p = $5000

r = 5% or 0.05

t = 5 years

n = 1

Compound interest formula is :

A=p(1+\frac{r}{n} )^{nt}

A=5000(1+\frac{0.05}{1} )^{5}

=>A=5000(1.05)^{5}

A = $6381.40

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We can see that we are getting more money in compound interest than the simple interest, for the same amount and same time period.

Which of the following are examples of irrational numbers? Select all that apply.
skad [1K]

Answer:

A rational number is a number that can be expressed as a fraction (ratio). This includes whole numbers, square roots that can be solved evenly, negatives, decimals, and repeating decimals that can be solved with a fraction. An irrational number is a number that is NOT rational. It's the complete opposite!

= 2 + 4 = 6 ↔ rational

= 2 * 2 = 4 ↔ rational

= 7 + 9 = 16 ↔ rational

Hope this helps!!

The fundamental theorem of Arithmetic
asambeis [7]

Answer:

1. {2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19}

2. {23, 29, 31, 37}

3. {7, 13, 19}

4. {37, 43}

Step-by-step explanation:

By extension, the set E, is given by:

E={2, 3, 5, 7, 11, ...}

In the same way, the set T, is given by:

T={4, 7, 10, 13, ...} = {t/ t is integer and (z-1) it is divisible by 3}

Let's call E1 the set of primes in E between 1 and 20.

Let's call E2 the set of primes in E between 21 and 40.

Let's call T1 the set of primes in T between 1 and 30.

Let's call T2 the set of primes in T between 31 and 60. Thus,

E1={2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19}

E2={23, 29, 31, 37}

T1={7, 13, 19}

T2={37, 43}

Members of the chess club help a bake sale to raise money. Cupcakes and cookies were sold.Cupcakes were sold for $1 each.Cookies
maksim [4K]

Answer:

$48

Step-by-step explanation:

2/3 of 288 is 192. You'll need to subtract 192 from 288 giving you the number of cookies that were actually sold (96). Now that you have the number of cookies sold you'll need to multiply it by $0.50 giving you your answer, $48.
