Answer: Please see explanation column for answer

Step-by-step explanation:

According to sequence   2, 6, 18, 54, 162

--we can see that it is a geometric sequence since to go from one term to the next requires us to  multiply by 3 which is called the common ratio which is gotten by dividing the next by the previous.

ie term 2/ term 1= 6/2 = 3

term 3/ term 2= 18/6= 3

term 4/ term 3= 54/28= 3

term 5 / term 4= 162/54=3

term 6 will therefore be 162 x3 = 486

and term 7 = 486 x 3=1,458 and so on

Recall that  nth term of GP is

Tn = ar^n-1

Where a= first term

r= common ratio

n= term

such that to easily find particular term, we  plug in the values and calculate

for example the 10th term of the above sequence

Tn = ar^n-1

= 2 X 3 ^(10-1)

2 X 3^9

T10 =39,366

Find an equation for the tangent to the curve at the given point y=x^3 , (2,8)
Yuliya22 [10]

\bf y=x^3\implies \left. \cfrac{dy}{dx}=3x^2 \right|_{x=2}\implies \stackrel{\stackrel{m}{\downarrow }}{12} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ (\stackrel{x_1}{2}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{8})~\hspace{10em} slope = m\implies 12 \\\\\\ \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-8=12(x-2) \\\\\\ y-8=12x-24\implies y=12x-16

Simplify quantity 1 minus cosine squared theta divided by sine squared theta..
Ulleksa [173]
For this case we have the following fraction:
 (1-cos ^ 2 (θ)) / (sin ^ 2 (θ))
 We must take into account the following trigonometric identity:
 cos ^ 2 (θ) + sin ^ 2 (θ) = 1
 Therefore rewriting we have:
 sin ^ 2 (θ) = 1 - cos ^ 2 (θ)
 Substituting in the given fraction we have:
 (1-cos ^ 2 (θ)) / (sin ^ 2 (θ))
 = (sin ^ 2 (θ)) / (sin ^ 2 (θ))
 = 1

Ksju [112]

Answer:

10

Step-by-step explanation:

Since T is the midpoint of PQ, we know that PT = TQ, therefore:

3x + 1 = 5x - 5

-2x = -6

x = 3

Since PT = 3x + 1, the answer is PT = 3 * 3 + 1 = 10.
