Answer:

Before opening the door you should CAREFULLY touch the door to feel if there is any heat behind it. If there is then you get out the closest window or door away from that door as there will most likely be a fire behind it.

If the door is not hot then you can go out of it. Either way you need to get out of the building ASAP to prevent you and any others from being injured / burned.

Hope this helps :)

Answer:

Crawl to exit

Explanation:

If the door is completely cool, open it cautiously. Put your shoulder against the door and open it slowly. A fire that has died down for lack of oxygen can flare up when a supply of fresh air rushes through the door you open. If heat or smoke enters the room, slam the door and make sure it is closed securely.

You should crawl to exit because you'll breathe less smoke if you stay close to the ground. Smoke naturally rises, so if there is smoke while you're using your escape route, staying low means you can crawl under most of it. You can drop to the floor and crawl on your hands and knees below the smoke.

Hope this helped have a great day!

Metabolism

Metabolism is a process that helps in chemical transformations within the cells of all living organisms. Metabolism actually helps an organism to grow, reproduce, and respond to the changes in the environment and also to maintain their own structure. Metabolism can also be divided into two parts and they are anabolism and catabolism. Without metabolism it is not possible for any organism to survive.

Cellular respiration involves a series of chemical reactions. The enzymes increase the rate of the reactions. The reactions that are catalysed by enzymes actually helps the organism to grow, respond to various changes in the environment, reproduce and continue maintaining their own structures. Cellular respiration is also considered a part of the metabolism process. This process actually helps in carrying the oxygen through the blood.

A college student has been called into the student health office because she tested positive for HIV on the enzyme-linked immuno
ivolga24 [154]

Answer: For detection and confirmation of HIV antibodies in blood samples.

Explanation: As the name implies ELISA( Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is the first test widely used for determining the presence of HIV in a person's serum because of its high sensitivity. In an ELISA, a person's serum is diluted 400 times and applied to a plate to which HIV antigens are attached. If antibodies to HIV are present in the serum, they may bind to these HIV antigens. The plate is then washed to remove all other components of the serum. A specially prepared "secondary antibody" (an antibody that binds to other antibodies) is then applied to the plate, followed by another wash. This secondary antibody is chemically linked in advance to an enzyme.

Thus, the plate will contain enzyme in proportion to the amount of secondary antibody bound to the plate. A substrate for the enzyme is applied, and catalysis by the enzyme leads to a change in color or fluorescence. ELISA results are reported as a number; the most controversial aspect of this test is determining the "cut-off" point between a positive and a negative result. A cut-off point may be determined by comparing it with a known standard. Unknown samples that generate a stronger signal than the known or control sample or are called "positive" while those that generate weaker signal are "negative".
