Choose the graph which represents the solution to the inequality:<br> -x - 3 &lt; 0
tia_tia [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's do the actual work of graphing this inequality.

First, add x to both sides, obtaining   -3 < x.

Reverse the order:  x > -3

Place an open circle around x = -3

Draw an arrow to the RIGHT from x = -3.

Unfortunately, the markings on the possible answer graphs are too small to read.  Compare the graph we have drawn to what you see on your computer screen.  But know that C is not the correct answer choice.

X –12 = -8x + 6 a.x = 2 b.x = -2 c.x = 3 d.x = -3
Naddik [55]

Answer:

<u>(a) x = 2</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

x - 12 = -8x + 6

First, move all the like terms to one side of the equation. We will move all the x's to the left, and the rest to the right in this equation. (Don't forget to pay attention to the signs of the numbers as you move them over the equal sign.)

x - 12 + 8x = 6

x + 8x = 6 + 12

9x = 18

Next, solve for x by isolating it to one side of the equation. Here, we'll have to divide 18 by 9 (do the opposite of what 9 is doing with x; instead of multiplying it with 18 like it currently is with x, divide 18 by it.)

x = \frac{18}{9}

x = 2

Therefore, your answer is (a), since x = 2.

Help please idk what im doing wrong
Musya8 [376]
From what I can see, you are on the right track.

one thing you could have done is combine like terms.
{10}^{2}  -  {3}^{2}  =  {7}^{2}

Now just take the square root of 7 squared. That takes out the squared making your answer 7 or G.

You were on the right track, you just skipped a step.

hope this helped!
