A flood is a body of water that covers land which is normally dry. Floods are common natural disasters that can affect millions of people around the world. They destroy houses and buildings, and carry soil away from valuable farming land. Floods can also contaminate drinking water and lead to diseases. They are often caused by rivers, but overflowing lakes and seas can also cause flooding.
Causes:volume, spatial distribution, intensity and duration of rainfall over a catchment.
The capacity of the watercourse or stream network to carry runoff.
Catchment and weather conditions before rainfall.
Ground cover.
Topography.
Tidal influences.
B. The events that have caused the narrator to think he will die the following day.
Explanation:
"The Black Cat" is a short story written by the American writer Edgar Allan Poe, that tells the story of a man that was condemned for killing his wife and hiding the body. This story begins with the narrator explaining he will die the following day, but he does not believe he is mad and then he is trying to let the world known what happened. This implies, in the beginning, the reader knows the narrator and main character will die the following day, but no clue is given in the beginning on the reasons why he will die. Thus, the information the narrator is not providing at the beginning of the story and that create suspense and engage the reader to continue reading is that the narrator believes he will die the following day, but does not explain the events that caused this, which are killing his wife and hiding the body.
Lope and jog are both slow forward movements. The correct analogy will be lull and calm. Lull imp,is something soothing, while calm can mean free from excitement.
(Put this very first quote in italics!)
‘Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.’
Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who believed that everyone was good at heart. She was born on June 12, 1929 and died an early death at age 16. Her strengths—some of which are charisma, optimism, and a loving spirit—surpassed her weaknesses, and she continues to be an admirable role model for anyone.
Throughout the play, I could see that Anne is a compassionate person. This is most evident to me in Act Two, Scene Three; Mr. Van Daan steals bread, and Mrs. Frank wants to put the Van Daans out. Evicting them would put them into a dangerous situation, one that could end in death or imprisonment. Anne intervenes quickly, showing compassion for the Van Daans despite her indifference to the family. Another scene where Anne shows compassion is Act Two, Scene Four. Peter is upset because the Franks and Van Daan’s have been hiding for two years. Anne then steps in and says, ‘It'll pass, maybe not for hundreds of years, but someday...I still believe in spite of everything people are really good at heart.’ Despite her bitter, unfair situation, Anne showed grace and compassion’s towards everyone.
Another characteristic of Anne’s that stands out to me is her generosity. In Act Two, Scene Five, Anne made everyone Hanukkah gifts, even though she doesn’t get along with most of the people in the Annex. Anne showed her generosity in more of a metaphorical way when she tells Peter in Act Two, Scene 4: ‘You know what I do when it seems as if I couldn’t stand being cooped up for one more minute? I think myself out.’ She shares her wisdom with someone she used to dislike, and tries her best to help out her friend.
Anne also shows that she is optimistic. In Act One, Scene Three, Mr. Van Daan tells Anne to behave like her older sister, Margot. Anne replies with optimism and fire. “I’d cut my throat first! I’d open my veins! I’m going to be great! I'm going to Paris!” This quote demonstrates that Anne sees herself escaping the Annex. In Act One, Scene Four Anne talks about her future children, another demonstration of her optimistic beliefs that her family will escape the Annex safely and live a normal life in the future.
Anne Frank made an impact on many people simply with her words. She inspires me to strive to be a better person, and to look for the best in everyone. The characteristics that I have are optimism and compassion. I demonstrate optimism by seeing the good things among all the bad. I show compassion by seeing the best in people, even those who are unfair and treat me badly. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and kindness. Anne Frank was also generous. Improve my essay it can only be 5 paragraphs long.
Okay, hope this helps!
I changed two of the characteristics you used because the way you used them didn’t fit the definitions;
Charisma: Compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others.
She was charismatic because she was kind, loyal, generous, etc. She didn’t have charisma by your definition though, she had compassion.
Admirable: Arousing or deserving respect and approval.
Anne was an admirable person, you’re right on that, but it’s an adjective. If you’re describing characteristics or traits, try to use nouns and ‘supporting adjectives’, e.g ‘compassion’ and ‘respectful’ or ‘generosity’ and ‘kind’.
What are you asking again?
