purchased many years ago is just perfect for the new, prefabricated house he wants to build for his family. To accomplish this large task, Xavier is going to need to consult with people from all three career clusters that we have considered in this unit—and you’re going to help! This activity will be broken up into two parts, each of which have their own assignment:
Part 1 will ask you to consider aspects of Xavier’s building project and complete math problems that help him make decisions about what to build.
Part 2 will have you take the answers to the math problems you completed in Part 1 and build a Job Board to keep Xavier organized during his construction project.

Compton Inc. made a $500 ordinary repair to a piece of equipment. Compton's accountant debited this amount to the asset account.
wariber [46]

Answer:

b) No, the correct entry would be a debit to Maintenance and Repairs Expense and a credit to Cash.

Explanation:

Any expense will be capitalized when it increases the capacity and efficiency of the asset. A routine repair cost is incurred in order to keep the asset operational to generate income for the business.

To record the repair cost we need to debit the Maintenance and Repairs Expense and crediting cash ( assumed cash payment is made for the repairs ). We should not capitalize this cost by debiting the asset cost account.

pshichka [43]

Answer:

The correct answer would be option A, Financial.

Explanation:

Xyz corporation has suffered a major downturn in business, and will not be able to pay interests on its bonds. This is an example of Financial Risk.

When companies or corporations face downturns in business, they actually encounter financial losses which in turn will affect the corporation and the shareholder or stockholders or bond holders. People who invested in the bonds of the company will not be able to get interests on their investments with the corporation. This is because the corporation is suffering financially and can't pay money or interest to the bond holders. This is a true financial risk for the investors as well as for the corporation.

The costs that are recorded in the job cost sheet include direct material, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead costs.  Since these job costs are traceable to their respective jobs, the actual direct material and labor costs are used.
