The pituitary gland is attached to the hypothalamus by a short stalk. The pituitary gland has two major parts.

(ii)                Posterior lobe.

The pituitary gland is controlled by hormones and neurons that comes in the hypothalamus where it acts as a link between brain and endocrine system, and hypothalamus is the endocrine gland itself. Prolactin and growth hormones have inhibiting hormone. Releasing hormone helps in stimulating production and it releases hormones from the anterior lobe.
