<span>The McCormick reaper was the first mechanical reaper used in farming. It was designed to harvest grain grown primarily in the mid west but it has been said that it revolutionized agriculture all around the world because farmers went from cutting grain by hand to being able to cut it with a machine and allowed for increased production. So much grain was produced in the mid west that Chicago had to improve its infrastructure to be able to handle it all.</span>

Elinor
Dashwood is an anecdotal character and the hero of Jane Austen's novel Sense
and Sensibility. In this novel, Austen investigates the contention between the
contradicting personalities of sense and sensibility. In this contention,
Elinor, a somehow introvert, practical, and insightful young lady who epitomizes
the "sense" of the title, is compared to her sister Marianne who
typifies "sensibility".
The federal and individual state governments are divided into three separate branches: the executive, legislative and judicial branches. The head of state and head of government of the United States is the President of the United States. Technically, the president is not elected directly by the people. Rather, registered voters elect designated electors in their states, who in turn ultimately cast votes for one of the presidential candidates. The vice president serves a dual role in that the individual serves as second ranking officer in the executive branch as well as the president of the Senate.
Rail road companies facilitated settlement of the Great Plains because it provided a means of transportation for settlers to get to the location. The government had also provided land to these companies which they sold at an affordable cost to the new settlers. The area was a large expanse of flat lang making it easy for newcomers to establish agriculture. <span />
