Find the equation, f(x) = a(x-h)2 + k, for a parabola that passes through the point (0, 0) and has (-3, -6) as its vertex. What
Arisa [49]
F(x) = a(x-h)² + k

Given that the vertex is (-3 -6):

f(x) = a(x + 3)² -6

Given that it passes through (0.0), find a:

a(0 + 3)² - 6 = 0

9a - 6 = 0

9a = 6

a = 6/9 =2/3

So the equation is :

f(x) = 2/3(x + 3)² -6

Write the equation in standard form:

f(x) = 2/3(x² + 6x + 9) - 6

f(x) = 2/3x² + 4x + 6 - 6

f(x) = 2/3x² + 4x

Answer: f(x) = 2/3x² + 4x

Jorge bought stock in a restaurant for $300. His stock is now worth $323. Complete the statement, rounding to two decimal places
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

The percentage change is 7.67%

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of stock in a restaurant when bought= $300

Cost of stock in a restaurant now = $323

Change in cost = 323 -300 = $23

The percentage change is = (change in cost/Cost of stock in a restaurant when bought) * 100

The percentage change is = (23/300) * 100 = 7.67 %

The percentage change is 7.67%

.help me please thanks
anzhelika [568]
Hello!

What you would need to do first is distribute the numbers inside the parenthesis.

6(t - 3) = 2(9 - 2t)
6t - 18 = 18 - 4t

Now that they've been distributed, you need to move all variables to one side, preferably to the left as it would make it easier to read and t would be positive.

6t - 18 = 18 - 4t
10t = 36

All that is left is to divide by 10 in order to leave t alone.

t = 3.6 or 18/5

Find the equation of the tangent line to the curve 4x3+2y2−11=4xy−x at the point (−1,2).
katrin [286]
Hello : let : y = f(x)     so : y' = f'(x)
calculate : f'(x)  and : f'(-1)  given f(-1) = 2

by derivate : 4x3+2y2−11=4xy−x
12x² +4yy' = 4y +4xy' - 1
4yy' - 4xy' = - 12x² +4y -1
y' ( 4y - 4x) = 4y -12x² -1 ...(*)
if x = -1   y = 2 subsct in : (*)
y' (4(2)-4(-1)) = 4(2)-12(-1)² - 1
2y' = - 9
y' = - 9/2 = f'(- 1)  ( the slope of the tangent )
of the tangent line to the curve at the point (−1,2) is :
y - 2 = (-9/2)(x +1)
