In 1911, he went on a no salt diet, (which he eased up after some time and convincing from doctors) which is bad for you since you <em>need</em> salt to survive. He also gave up meat and became a vegetarian, though he did attempt veganism, but faced many health problems, so he discontinued it. The last reason was because he fasted. <em>A lot</em>.
