Life

I am Life

I wonder about the world without life

I touch no flowers here

I hear no bees here

I see no birds here

I want there to be life here

I pretend there is life here

I touch the new flowers

I hear the new bees

I see the new birds

I worry it will be gone when I open my eyes

I open them and there it all is

All around me there is Life

The quote below is from African America leader Malcolm X:
netineya [11]

Below is the quote by Martin Luther King, who Malcolm refers to as "a general," and which reflects a point of view that is opposed to Malcolm's beliefs: "Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him."

About Malcolm X.

Malcolm X was known to be an African-American minister and at the same time a human rights activist. He was a prominent figure during the civil rights movement. He advocated for black empowerment and the promotion of Islam.

We see that the statement by Martin Luther King actually opposes that of Malcolm X. King believes in nonviolence. But Malcolm X is actually suspicious of one who makes peace with the enemy.

vichka [17]

In 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressed Congress in an effort to move the nation away from a foreign policy of neutrality.

The fundamental belief that Roosevelt had about the need for freedom in the world states that people in all nations of the world shared Americans’ entitlement to four freedoms:

“The freedom of speech and expression, the freedom to worship God in his own way, freedom from want and freedom from fear”
