N = a number between one and 10
x = negative if the decimal is moved to the right. positive if moved to the left.
Okay, so we need to move the decimal in the number <span>0.0059 to the right to make it between one and 10.

5.9
N = 5.9
5.9 </span>×
Since we moved the decimal to the right 3 times,
x = -3
5.9 ×
