Answer:

Due to less steps and requires less energy.

Explanation:

The bacterial cell is able to use glucose first as an energy source then switch to lactose because glucose requires less steps and less amount of energy for the break down as compared to lactose. If lactose is the only sugar available to the bacterial cells, then bacterial cells will use it as energy source for the production of energy. In order to use lactose, the bacteria must express the lac operon genes, which encode the main enzymes for lactose uptake and metabolism.

1 . What happens in the population if the mutation phenotype is helpful
pashok25 [27]

Answer:

1. The population will increase as they're better adapted to their environment and have a higher survival rate due to this helpful phenotype.

2. This happens to the population because this helpful phenotype might lead to less exposure to predation in which leads to a better survival fitness for the organism.

3. This mutation continues to exist as the organisms continue to successfully reproduce into the population due to being able to survive for longer.

complete the flow of deoxygenated blood other parts of the body (a)_____(b)_____tricuspid valve (c)______(d)_______capillary bed
NemiM [27]

Answer:

The correct flow is - the body (a) Venules/vein/vena cava (b) Right atrium tricuspid valve (c) Right ventricle (d) Pulmonary artery, capillary bed of the lungs(alveoli)

Explanation:

Deoxygenated blood is moved from the tissues to the venules, veins or vena cava to the right atrium chamber and move through the tricuspid valve present in between both right chambers right atrium and right ventricle.

From the right ventricle, the deoxygenated blood is pumped into the pulmonary artery that takes the blood to the lungs more specifically to the capillary bed of lungs.

Thus, the flow is - the body (a) Venules/vein/vena cava (b) Right atrium tricuspid valve (c) Right ventricle (d) Pulmonary artery, capillary bed of the lungs(alveoli)
