Answer: 107.8\ J

Explanation:

Given

Initial position of object is (4.4 i+5 j)

Final position of object is (11.6 i -2 j)

Force acting (4i-9j)

Work done is given by

\Rightarrow W=F\cdot dx\\\Rightarrow W=(4i-9j)\cdot (11.6i-4.4i-2j-5j)\\\Rightarrow W=(4i-9j)\cdot (7.2i-7j)\\\Rightarrow W=28.8+63\\\Rightarrow W=91.8\ J

Initial kinetic energy

K_i=\dfrac{1}{2}\times 2\times 4^2\\\\K_i=16\ J

Change in kinetic energy is equal to work done by object

\Rightarrow K_f=K_i+W\\\Rightarrow K_f=16+91.8\\\Rightarrow K_f=107.8\ J

if a car that is 100 feet in front of you on route 70 west slams on the brakes while you are traveling 65 miles per hour (95 fee
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

t = 1.05 s

Explanation:

Given,

The distance between your vehicle and car, 100 ft

The constant speed of your vehicle, u = 95 ft/s

Since, the velocity is constant, a =0

If the car stopped suddenly, time left for you to hit the brake, t = ?

Using the second equation of motion,

                           S = ut + ½ at²

Substituting the given values in the equation

                           100 = 95 x t

                             t = 100/95

                               = 1.05 s

Hence, the time left for you to hit the brakes and stop before rear ending them, t = 1.05 s

If a series circuit contains a 12-V battery, a 6-ohm resistor, and a 4-ohm resistor, what is the current in the circuit?
Shalnov [3]

In a series circuit the total current is the same throughout resistors and so:

I_{total}=I_1=I_2

The voltage is distributed throughout the resistors and so:

V_{total}=V_1+V_2

and the total resistance can be calculated by adding up the resistors resistance:

R_{total}=R_1+R_2

First thing is to calculate the total resistance and so:

R_{total}=6\Omega + 4\Omega = 10\Omega

And by Omh's law V=IR we have:

V_{total}=I_{total}R_{total}\\\\I_{total}=\frac{V_{total}}{R_{total}}= \frac{12V}{10\Omega} =1.2A

And so the total current of the circuit is 1.2 amps i.e. 1.2 A.
