lets take

x+y=100 firstly.

then x=100-y equation (i)

Now,

x-y=10

Putting value of x from equation(i)

100-y-y=10

-2y=10-100

-2y=-90

therefore, y=45

Now,

putting value of y in equation(i)

we get

x=100-45

ie x=55

hence, x=55 & y=45

Answer:

The solution is (55, 45).

Step-by-step explanation:

Solve the system of linear equations

x + y = 100

x - y = 10

through elimination by addition / subtraction.

Combining these two equations temporarily eliminates y, leaving us with 2x = 110.  Then x = 55.

Substituting 55 for x in the first equation, we get:

55 + y = 100.  Subtracting 55 from both sides leaves us with y = 45.

The solution is (55, 45).

Both of those equations are solved for y.  So if the first one is equal to y and the second one is equal to y, then the transitive property says that the first one is equal to the second one.  We set them equal to each other and solve for x.  4x-5=-3 and 4x = 2.  That means that x = 1/2.  We were already told that y = -3, so the coordinates for the solution to that system are (1/2, -3), B from above.

A glass marble has a diameter of 17 millimeters. What is the approximate volume of the marble? Use 3.14
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

v=2571.13667 mm^3

Step-by-step explanation:

A marble is a sphere, and the volume of a sphere can be found using:

v=\frac{4}{3} \pi r^3

We need to find the radius, and we know that the radius is 1/2 of the diameter

r=d/2

r=17/2

r=8.5

Now we can substitute 8.5 in for r, and 3.14 in for pi

v=\frac{4}{3} (3.14)(8.5^3)

v=\frac{4}{3} (3.14)(614.125)

v=\frac{4}{3}(1928.3525)

v=2571.13667 mm^3

You eat out and your meal was $8.95. You left $11.
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

123%

Step-by-step explanation:

So, eleven dollars even is very difficult to get. It is actually somewhere between 122 and 123% (I'd say probably 122.5% but that's not really possible so... I chose 123% which is only a penny over your actual price)

Okay, so, you want to leave a 123% tip on a meal that cost $8.95.

First, convert the 123% to an actual number that can be used in a calculation. For percents,this is always done by simply dividing the percent (in this case 123%) by 100%.So, the conversational term "123%" becomes 123% / 100% = 1.23 in terms of a real mathematical number.

Second, you need to find out what 123% of your $8.95 meal cost is.This is always done by multiplying 1.23 by $8.95, or  1.23 x $8.95=$11.01.

So, the amount of tip you are going to leave is $11.01, and the percentage is 123.

Hope this helps! :)
