Idk how to do this math problem...can u plz help?
liberstina [14]

Answer:

F) A=(12*12)+((6*12)/2)

Step-by-step explanation:

We can find the answer by breaking up the area into to parts: the square and the triangle

To find the area of the square we use the formula length * width or side^2

This gives us 12*12 which is shown in the first part of each equation

To find the area of the triangle, we must use the formula A= (base * hight)/2

We know the hight is 12 because the hight is the same as the hight or side length of the square, but we still need to find the length of the base of the triangle

Since we know the total length of the bottom of the combined square and triangle is 18 and we know the side length of the bottom of the square is 12 (given to us at the top side of the square and we know the side of a square are of equal length)

Using this information to find the length of only the triangle base we can say

Length of triangle base = Length of total/combined base - length of square base

Plugging in these numbers we get:

Length of triangle base = 18-12 which equals 6

So length of triangle base is 6

Going back to our equation for area of a triangle A=(base*hight)/2

We can plug in our numbers using 6 for the base and 12 for the height

A=(6*12)/2

Now we combine this with our equation for the area of the square (A= 12 * 12) to get our final answer

A= (12*12) + ((6*12)/2)

Hope this helps :)
