Answer: Well it depends on what your referring to 10+9 is 109, 9+10 is sometimes considered to be equal to 21 but that is just mere speculation the only answer to make sense has to be 910, but alas the obvious answer was wrong. By entering in the equation on a calculator your answer would be 19. I know math is ridiculous

The circle graph shows how a family spends its annual income. If $37,800 is used for Housing and Clothing combined, what is the
astraxan [27]

Answer:

$90000

Step-by-step explanation:

From the pie chart,

Let the total annual income = $y

The percentage of housing = 28 %

The percentage of clothing = 14 %

The combined percentage of housing and clothing = 28+14 = 42 %

If the amount spent on both housing and clothing combined = $ 37800

Therefore,

y(42/100) = 37800

Solve for y

42y = 37800×100

42y = 3780000

y = 3780000/42

y = $90000

Hence, the total annual income is $90000

When multiplying and dividing two numbers in scientific notation, why do u sometimes have to rewrite one factor ?
zalisa [80]

You sometimes need to rewrite a factor because the lead number is not between 1 and 10 as it needs to be in scientific notation. For instance, if we had lead numbers of 2 and 5, as we do in the following problem.

2x10^3 * 5x10^9

Then we get the answer of 10x10^12. We need to adjust this by moving the decimal place and increasing the exponent by 1. The correct answer would be 1x10^13 instead.

Find two consecutive integers whose product is 6 less than the square of the smaller number
Artyom0805 [142]

Answer:

Hi there!

Your answer is:

The smaller integer is -6

The larger integer is -5

Step-by-step explanation:

Two consecutive integers:

x, x+1

Product= multiply

(x) × (x+1) = x^2 - 6

x^2 + x= x^2 -6

-x^2

x= -6

Plug back in

First integer (smaller):

-6

Second integer (larger):

-6+1

-5

Check your work!

(-6) × (-6+1)

(-6)× (-5)

30 = (-6)^2 -6

30 = 36-6

30= 30 ✓✓✓✓

That's how we determine that this is the correct answer

Hopefully this helps

The quotient of d and -1/4 is less than -3/2. Write as an inequality
drek231 [11]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

this quotient is:

       d

------------

    (-1/4)

Then:

       d

------------ < -3/2

    (-1/4)

You weren't asked to solve this. But if you wish to do so:

-4d < -3/2

Multiplying both sides by 2, to eliminate the fraction:

-8d < -3

Dividing both sides by -8, we get d > 3/8. We must change the direction of the original inequality sign.
