Well this is a very opinionated question but personally:
Astronauts improve society by using the newest and most expensive technology to be able to explore space as we know it.
To have some fun and not be bored all the time
Civil War killed off slavery and declined the southern economy it also acted as a catalyst to make America into a complex industrial society of capital, technology, national organizations, and large corporations.
I am pretty sure it is because it did not have a bill of rights. Hope this helps!
To settle America and make a new and better place and break away from the harsh British government.
They were more free in spirit.
