I guess 90 would be best option here, 37 celsius converts to 98 Fahrenheit but that’s to hot, 55 Celsius converts to 131 Fahrenheit is wayyyy to hot also and 70 Fahrenheit is to cold

A ball is projected up into the air from the surface of a platform to the ground below. The height of the ball above the ground,
mezya [45]

Answer:

  • 112 ft
  • 3 - 7 seconds interval

Step-by-step explanation:

Given function:

  • f(t) = -16t² + 96t + 112

The height of the platform is the y-intercept, when t = 0:

  • f(0) = - 16*0 + 96*0 + 112 = 112 ft

The ball's height is decreasing once it reaches the maximum, which is at vertex.

The vertex is at x = -b/2a:

  • t = - 96/ - 32 = 3

The ball hits the ground when f(t) = 0:

  • - 16t² + 96t + 112 = 0
  • t² - 6t - 7 = 0
  • (t - 7)(t + 1) = 0
  • t = 7 (positive root)

The interval is between 3 seconds and 7 seconds

The difference of two numbers is 18 and the sum is 90. Find the two numbers. Please hurry and include step by step explanation!
erica [24]

Answer: x=54 and y=36

Step-by-step explanation:

let the two numbers x and y

as the difference of two numbers is 18

x-y=18       eq(1)

sum of two numbers is 90

x+y=90    eq(2)

add eq(1) and eq (2)

x-y+x+y=18+90

2x=108

x=108/2

x=54

subsitute x=54 in eq 1 for y

54-y=18

-y=18-54

y=36

for check

54+36=90

90=90

54-36=18

18=18
