Answer: since the parent function is f(x), then i think....

f(x) + 5 is the shifted 5 units up of f(x)

then the first answer is correct

f(x - 8) is 8 shifted 8 units right of f(x)

then the second answer is wrong,

f(x) is replaced by 4f(x) means it stretched vertically by a factor of 4

the the third answer is correct

f(x) is replaced with f(3x) compressed horizontally by a scale factor of 1/3

then the fourth answer is correct

Step-by-step explanation: i hope this makes since and sorry if it doesn't so the first is correct, second is wrong, third is correct, and fourth is also correct. and no there well be no links. (sorry if you do want links)

Are the lines parallel, perpendicular, or neither? One line through the points (3, 2) and (6, 8), and another line through the p
Temka [501]

Answer:

Parallel.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's find the slope of each line.

One through the points (3,2) and (6,8):-

Slope = rise / run = (8-2)/(6-3)

=  6/3 = 2

The other line:-

Slope =  (6-2)(2-0)

= 4/2 = 2

The slopes are the same so the 2 lines are parallel.

What is a formula for the nth term of a given sequence
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

a_n=-12-4(n-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

The given sequence is

-12,-16,-20...

The first term of this sequence is a_1=-12.

The common difference is

d=-16--12

d=-16+12=-4

The nth term of this arithmetic sequence is;

a_n=a_1+d(n-1)

We substitute the values for the first term and the common difference to obtain;

a_n=-12-4(n-1)
