Answer: since the parent function is f(x), then i think....

f(x) + 5 is the shifted 5 units up of f(x)

then the first answer is correct

f(x - 8) is 8 shifted 8 units right of f(x)

then the second answer is wrong,

f(x) is replaced by 4f(x) means it stretched vertically by a factor of 4

the the third answer is correct

f(x) is replaced with f(3x) compressed horizontally by a scale factor of 1/3

then the fourth answer is correct

Step-by-step explanation: i hope this makes since and sorry if it doesn't so the first is correct, second is wrong, third is correct, and fourth is also correct. and no there well be no links. (sorry if you do want links)

#25.
Convert the fractional numbers into decimals for easier comparison.
3 2/3 is approximately 3.66
-4 2/5 is approximately -4.4
We now have: 3, 3.66, -4.2, -4.4
In order: -4 2/5, -4.2, 3, 3 2/3

#26.
All positive numbers are greater than negative numbers.
When comparing two negative numbers, the one with the larger absolute value, will be less.
So (G) is correct

#27.
25 = m + 6.3
25 - 6.3 = m + 6.3 - 6.3
m = 18.7

#28.
h = 3.2-1.6 = 1.6

#29.
x = 15.6 - 9.8 = 5.8

#30
p = 17 - 4.5 = 12.5

Sladkaya [172]

Answer:

1 3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

3 1/2 boxes of tomatoes currently. uses 1 3/4, taking it away basically.

3 1/2 - 1 3/4

3 2/4 - 1 3/4 ;; i did this with finding a common denominator for it to be easier for me to solve.

3 - 1 = 2

2/4 - 3/4 = -1/4

2 + -1/4 = 1 3/4

correct me if wrong.

Divide x^3/4 over x^1/6
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{x^{\frac{3}{4} } }{x^{\frac{1}{6} } }  = x^{\frac{3}{4} - \frac{1}{6} \\

\frac{3}{4} - \frac{1}{6}  = \frac{(3 * 6) - (4 * 1)}{(4 * 6)}

\frac{18 - 4}{24}  = \frac{14}{24} = \frac{7}{12}

You are told that a 95% confidence interval for a population proportion is (0.3775, 0.6225) What was the sample proportion that
Maru [420]
The mean of the confidence interval is (0.3775 + 0.6225) / 2 = 0.5. Therefore, the standard deviation of the proportion would have been sqrt[0.5*(1 - 0.5) / n], where n is the sample size. This expression simplifies to sqrt(0.25/n).

A 95% CI has a corresponding z = 1.96, so since the distance from 0.5 to 0.3775 (or 0.6225 to 0.5) is equal to 0.1225. Therefore, if we divide 0.1225 / 1.96 = 0.0625, we get the value of the SD, and this should be equal to sqrt(0.25/n).

0.0625 = sqrt(0.25/n)
n = 64
This means that the proportion was 0.5 and the sample size was 64.
