A company makes picture frames for different sized pictures. A customer has several rectangular-shaped photographs that he wants

to be framed. All of the photographs measure 10½ inches for width but vary in length.
The manager at the frame shop knows she can use the formula for perimeter, P = 2l + 2w, to determine the amount of wood that she’ll need for each photograph.

One of the photos is 20¾ inches long. How much wood is needed for the frame? The type you answer as a decimal, not a fraction.

How to solve a one step equation of R+3= -6 1/2 <br> please show all the work
IgorC [24]
Solve for R:
R + 3 = -(1/2 + 6)
Put 1/2 + 6 over the common denominator 2. 1/2 + 6 = (2×6)/2 + 1/2:
R + 3 = -(2×6)/2 + 1/2
2×6 = 12:
R + 3 = -(12/2 + 1/2)
12/2 + 1/2 = (12 + 1)/2:
R + 3 = -(12 + 1)/2
12 + 1 = 13:
R + 3 = -13/2
Subtract 3 from both sides:
R + (3 - 3) = -13/2 - 3
3 - 3 = 0:
R = -13/2 - 3
Put -13/2 - 3 over the common denominator 2. -13/2 - 3 = (-13)/2 + (2 (-3))/2:
R = (-13)/2 - (3×2)/2
2 (-3) = -6:
R = (-6)/2 - 13/2
(-13)/2 - 6/2 = (-13 - 6)/2:
R = (-13 - 6)/2
-13 - 6 = -19:

In ΔRST, the measure of ∠T=90°, the measure of ∠R=82°, and TR = 44 feet. Find the length of ST to the nearest tenth of a foot.
yuradex [85]

Answer: 313.1 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

\tan 82=\frac{x}{44}

tan82=

44

x

44\tan 82=x

44tan82=x

x=313.0763\approx \mathbf{313.1}\text{ feet}

x=313.0763≈313.1 feet

PLEASE HELP!!!!! What is the value of x in the matrix equation below?
Brums [2.3K]

The given matrix equation is,

1.5\left[\begin{array}{cc}x&6\\8&4\end{array}\right] +y\left[\begin{array}{cc}1&4\\3&2\end{array}\right] =\left[\begin{array}{cc}z&z\\6z&2\end{array}\right].

Multiplying the matrices with the scalars, the given equation becomes,

\left[\begin{array}{cc}1.5x&9\\12&6\end{array}\right] +\left[\begin{array}{cc}y&4y\\3y&2y\end{array}\right] =\left[\begin{array}{cc}z&z\\6z&2\end{array}\right]  \\

Adding the matrices,

\left[\begin{array}{cc}1.5x+y&9+4y\\12+3y&6+2y\end{array}\right]  =\left[\begin{array}{cc}z&z\\6z&2\end{array}\right]  \\

Matrix equality gives,

1.5x+y=z\\ 9+4y=z\\ 12+3y=6z\\ 6+2y=2

Solving the equations together,

y=-2\\ 3y-1.5x=9\\ -1.5x=9+6\\ x=-10

We can see that the equations are not consistent.

There is no solution.

Use the context of a 24-pack of soda to explain why 3/8 is NOT equivalent to 5/12 . Answer in number of cans.
juin [17]

Answer:

In a 24 pack of soda, 1/8 would be 3 cans (24/8 = 3). 1/12 would be 2 cans (24/12=2).

So 3/8 is 9 cans of soda and 5/12 is 10 cans of soda, so they are not equivalent because the number of soda cans is not the same.
