How can an expression or process be determined for an arithmetic sequence?
ElenaW [278]
An aritmetic sequcne is represented as

a_n=a_1+d(n-1)

where
an=nth term
a1=first term
d=common differnce, or how much each term increases by
n=which term

example

1,3,5, etc
first term is 1
common difference is 2 because it increases by 2 each time
so the formula would be
a_n=1+2(n-1)

if we had
5,3,1
first term s 5
common difference is -2 since it goes up by -2 each time
so formula is
a_n=5-2(n-1)

hope this helps

A line in standard (x,y) coordinate plane passes through the points (7.5 ,-4.25) and (12.5,-6) find the slope of the line
Svet_ta [14]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Rise over run. Difference in y values is rise. 4.25 -6 is -1.75. Run s difference in x values. 12.5 -7 is 5. Divide -1.75/5 to get -0.35 As a faction thats -7/20

Find the average rate of change of each function on the interval specified.
ExtremeBDS [4]

The average rate of change (AROC) of a function f(x) on an interval [a, b] is equal to the slope of the secant line to the graph of f(x) that passes through (a, f(a)) and (b, f(b)), a.k.a. the difference quotient given by

f_{\mathrm{AROC}[a,b]} = \dfrac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}

So for f(x) = x² on [1, 5], the AROC of f is

f_{\mathrm{AROC}[1,5]} = \dfrac{5^2-1^2}{5-1} = \dfrac{24}4 = \boxed{6}
