Answer:

y = - \frac{1}{3} x - 2

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

y = 3x - 3 ← is in slope- intercept form

with slope m = 3

Given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is

m_{perpendicular} = - \frac{1}{m} = - \frac{1}{3} , then

y = - \frac{1}{3} x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute (- 3, - 1) into the partial equation

- 1 = 1 + c ⇒ c = - 1 - 1 = - 2

y = - \frac{1}{3} x - 2 ← equation of perpendicular line

What does the E in an electrode code stands for?
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

The “E” indicates an arc welding electrode. The first two digits of a 4-digit number and the first three digits of a 5-digit number stand for tensile strength.  So, “1” stands for an all position electrode, “2” for a flat and horizontal electrode, and “4” for a flat, horizontal, vertical down and overhead electrode

Kwame says that the ordered pair(5,0) is on the y-axis. So you agree? Justify your answer.
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

No, the answer would be on the x-axis. This is because x=5 and y=0, which would mean that the ordered pair (5,0) would be on the x-axis.

Hope this helps!
