$30.22 received back

120 x .80 = $96 (shoes with discount no tax)
24 x .85 = $20.40 (one pair of shorts not tax)

20.4 x 3 = $61.20 (all shorts)

61.2 + 96 = $157.2 (shorts and shoes no tax)

157.2 x 1.08 = $169.776 (round to $169.78)

200 - 169.78 = $30.22 back from cashier

Michael is buying a pair of jeans that regularly cost $40. They are on sale for 20% off. If the tax rate is 8%, what is the sale
Anna35 [415]

Answer

Find out the  what is the sale price of the jeans including tax .

To prove

Let us assume that the sale price of the jeans including tax be x .

As given

Michael is buying a pair of jeans that regularly cost $40.

They are on sale for 20% off.

If the tax rate is 8% .

20% is written in the decimal form

= \frac{20}{100}

= 0.20

8% is written in the decimal form

= \frac{8}{100}

= 0.08

Than the equation becomes

x = 40 - 40 × 0.20 + 40 × 0.08

x = 40 - 8 + 3.2

x = 43.2 - 8

x = $35.2

Therefore the sale price of the jeans including tax be $ 35.2 .

MArishka [77]

Answer:

i

Step-by-step explanation:

i = \sqrt{-1}

i^2 = -1

i^3 = -i

i^4 = 1

(Make sure you know your exponent rules)

i^4^1 = i^4^0 * i = (i^1^0)^4 * i \\i^4 = 1 \\i^1^0 * i *1 \\i^1^0=1\\1*1*i=i
