What is the difference between metaphase in mitosis and metaphase II in meiosis? How are they the same?
lora16 [44]

Answer:

What is the difference between Metaphase 1 and Metaphase 2? In Metaphase I, the 'pairs of chromosomes' are arranged on the Metaphase plate while, in the Metaphase II, the 'chromosomes' are arranged on the metaphase plate. In Metaphase I, the spindle fibers get attached to two centromeres of each homologous chromosome.

In metaphase 1 the pairs of chromosomes referred to as bivalents are totally condensed. Moreover the in metaphase 1 of meiosis there is no centromere division whereas in metaphase of mitosis it does. They align on the metaphase plate in between the poles.

When the cell cycle is interrupted what is the end result
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

When the cell cycle is interrupted, apoptosis occurs.

Explanation:

Opoptosis is also known as programmed death of the abnormal cell. When cell DNA is damaged first it is repaired. If cell DNA cannot be repaired so the cell kill itself. If Opoptosis didn't occurs, then the cell divides with the damage DNA and transfer that damage DNA to the daughter cells which lead to cancer disease. Cancer also occurs when uncontrolled division of cells is done.

Which process occurs in a human muscle when it gets forced to make ATP without oxygen?
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

C: Lactic acid fermentation

Explanation:

Cellular respiration without oxygen is called anaerobic respiration. ETS (or electron transport chain) reactions happen as the last step of aerobic cellular respiration, therefore it is incorrect.

Lactic acid fermentation is a metabolic process by which glucose and other six-carbon sugars are converted into cellular energy and the metabolite lactate, which is lactic acid in solution. It is an anaerobic fermentation reaction.
