Lines D and E are parallel to each other. A parallel line set is when 2 (or more) lines have the same slope with different intercepts. The 2 lines will never meet and will always remain consistently apart from each other.

Lines D and C are perpendicular to each other, which means that go exactly the opposite direction. If 2 lines are perpendicular, they will always meet at a right angle, regardless of the y-intercept.

1 and 3 are special angles because they will be the same, no matter how the lines would have met. The angles to the right of 1 and 3 will always be equal to 180-(measure of angle 1 or 3).

Determine whether the graph is the graph of a function.
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

  Yes

Step-by-step explanation:

Unless the line is vertical, the graph of any straight line is the graph of a function.

___

A vertical line does not map x to one single y-value, so it does not represent a function. Any other line does map each x to a single y-value, so does represent a function.

In how many ways can you seat 5 women and 5 men in a row if women must seat next to each other, men must seat next to each other,
makvit [3.9K]

Answer: 288ways

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 5men and 5women to be arranged, since the men must seat together, they will be arranged in 5! ways. For the women, since they must also seat together but with siamese twins between them, they can be arranged in 4! ways instead of 5! ways and this is due to presence of the twins among them.

Note that Siamese twins cannot be separated as such both are taken as one making it 4!.

Since the women and men are always sitting together, they can be arranged in 2! ways i.e 2 sexes

The final seating arrangement can be done in 2!×(5!+4!) ways

= 2× (120+24)

= 2×144

= 288ways.

Note that the arrangement of the men and women are added because they can only be arranged differently to ensure different sex are not sitting together.
