Answer:

it costs $2.80 per padlock

Step-by-step explanation:

Okay since we know how much it costs to buy 9 padlocks, we can deduce that there has to be a unit rate for each padlock so we divide the cost of the 9 padlocks by the number of padlocks to find the unit rate:

25.20/9= 2.8

Now we convert the answer into money like so:

2.8 = 2.80 = $2.80

So it costs $2.80 for each padlock

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

x = 30

Discussion:

Note: I ignored the * in f*(x)  as i don't know what it means. (If this is not what you intended, please indicate what * means)

f(x) = 2 sqrt(x-5) + 4

f(x) = 14

=>

14 = 2 sqrt(x-5) + 4             => subtract 4 from both sides

14 -4 = 2 sqrt(x-5)               => divide both sides by 2

10/2 = sqrt(x-5)                   =>

5 = sqrt(x-5)                        => square both sides

5*5 = x-5                              => add 5 to both sides

5*5 + 5  = x

25 + 5 = x

x = 30

Thank you,

MrB

Kendrick's Kennel has 2 spots for cats for every 7 spots for dogs. If he has a total of 144 spots for both cats and dogs,then ho
Keith_Richards [23]

Alright, lets get started.

Kendrick's Kennel has 2 spots for cats for every 7 spots for dogs.

Suppose spots for cats = 2x

So, spots for dogs will be = 7x

Total spots for cats and dogs will be = 2x + 7x

Total spots for cats and dogs will be = 9x

As per given in question, total spots for both cats and dogs are 144, so

9x = 144

Dividing 9 in both sides

\frac{9x}{9} =\frac{144}{9}

x = 16

So, spots for cats = 2 * 16 = 32

Spots for dogs = 7 * 16 = 112

So, spots for dogs more than cats are = 112 - 32 = 80

It means he has 80 more spots for dogs than cats.    :    Answer

Hope it will help :)
