Can someone help me to answer this please.
Volgvan

All it's asking is: How many cubic inches are there in 22 gallons ? And it already GAVE us the conversion factor !

The conversion factor is . . . . . 1 gallon = 231 cubic inches

Multiply each side by 22: 22 gallons = 22 x (231 cubic inches)

22 x 231 = 5,082

22 gallons = 5,082 cubic inches

If you empty a full 22-gallon tank out through that flow meter, the meter will register 5,082 cubic inches when the tank is empty.

A vehicle arriving at an intersection can turn right, turn left, or continue straight ahead. The experiment consists of observin
Temka [501]

Answer:

a) Sample space (S) = {TR, TL, Cs}

b) Pr(Vehicle Turns) = 2/3.

Step-by-step explanation:

a) By sample space (S) we mean the list all possible outcome of an event. From the illustration in the question, only three (3) outcome is possible:

i) Vehicle Turn Right (TR)

ii) Vehicle Turn Left (TL)

iii) Continue Straight ahead (Cs)

And since the experiment consists of observing the movement of a single vehicle through the intersection, then, the sample space (S) is:

==> {TR, TL, Cs}

b) Since we are assuming that all sample points are equally likely, it imply that they have equal probability of occurring. And by probability:

Pr(TR) = 1/3

Pr(TL) = 1/3

Pr(Cs) = 1/3

Meanwhile, the question wants us to find the probability that the vehicle turns. This means, the vehicle turning either right or left. Thus;

Pr(vehicle turns) = Pr(TR) or Pr(TL) = Pr(TR) + Pr(TL)

Pr(vehicle turns) = (1/3) + (1/3) = 2/3

Maggie sells homemade cookies. on a dozen cookies she spend 0.50 on flour, 0.70 on sugar, 0.40 on eggs,and 0.40 on packaging if
Art [367]

Using the profit concept, it is found that she makes a profit of $4 selling a dozen cookies for six dollars.

What is a profit?

The profit is given by the subtraction of the revenue by the total costs.

In this problem:

 • For the dozen cookies, she earned a revenue of 6 dollars.
 • In all, the total cost of the 12 cookies was of 0.5 + 0.7 + 0.4 + 0.4 = 2 dollars.

6 - 2 = 4, hence she makes a profit of $4.
