Hi everyone, I’m currently trying to dive into some lessons before school starts and I’m taking algebra 2 this year and the less

ons that I am currently studying about is imaginary numbers. I had a few questions so if anyone could help me out that’d be great! Starting off, while watching the video, the guy explaining says that j^4 = 1 because it is like j times j^3 and I’m just confused because I don’t understand where they got the 1 from…

An imaginary number is a complex number that can be written as a real number multiplied by the imaginary unit i, which is defined by its property i² = −1. The square of an imaginary number bi is −b². For example, 5i is an imaginary number, and its square is −25

The sum of five consecutive integers is five. What is the product of the five integers?
nadya68 [22]

Answer:Let n = the smallest integer

Then the other integers are n+1, n+2, n+3 and n+4

Sum = n + n+1 + n+2 + n+3 + n+4 = 5n + 10 = 5(n + 2)

So the sum is always divisible by 5, for any value of n

How do you solve -3x+28=10
Anna [14]

Answer: x = 6

Step-by-step explanation: To solve for x, we must first isolate the term containing x which in this problem is -3x.

Since 28 is being added to -3x, we subtract 28 from both sides of the equation to isolate the -3x. On the left, the +28 and -28 cancel out and on the right 10 - 28 is -18 so we have -3x = -18.

Now we can finish things off by just dividing both sides of the equation by -3. On the left the -3's cancel and we have x. On the right, -18 divided by -3 is 6 so we have x = 6 which is the solution to our equation.
