In a packing plant, one of the machines packs jars into a box. A sales rep for a packing machine manufacturer comes into the pla

nt saying that a new machine he is selling will pack the jars faster than the old machine. To test this claim, each machine is timed for how long it takes to pack 10 cartons of jars at randomly chosen times. Given a 95% confidence interval of (3.08, 10.12) for the true difference in average times to pack the jars (old machine - new machine), what can you conclude from this interval

Answer:

We are 95% sure that the true difference in time to pack the jars between the old machine and the new machine is between 3.08 and 10.12 minutes, that is, we are 95% sure that the new machine takes between 3.08 and 10.12 minutes less than the old machine to pack the jars.

Step-by-step explanation:

x% confidence interval:

A confidence interval is built from a sample, has bounds a and b, and has a confidence level of x%. It means that we are x% confident that the population mean is between a and b.

95% confidence interval of (3.08, 10.12) for the true difference in average times to pack the jars (old machine - new machine).

We are 95% sure that the true difference in time to pack the jars between the old machine and the new machine is between 3.08 and 10.12 minutes, that is, we are 95% sure that the new machine takes between 3.08 and 10.12 minutes less than the old machine to pack the jars.

A ship sails 250km due North qnd then 150km on a bearing of 075°.1)How far North is the ship now? 2)How far East is the ship now
algol [13]

The answers to the bearing problems are listed below:

 1. How far North is the ship now ___________ 38.82 km
 2. How far East is the ship now ____________ 144.89 km
 3. How far is the ship from its starting point_____241.48 km
 4. On what bearing is it now from its original position____035°

Meaning of bearing.

Bearing can defined as branch of mathematics that describes the accurate location of an object at any point in time.

Analysis

The answers to the problem from 1-3 can be gotten by using sin and cos to find the missing sides.

The final value can be gotten using the cosine rule

4). bearing from original position = cos^{-1} (a^{2} + b^{2}﹣c^{2}) / 2ab = 35°

In conclusion, the answers for each is given in the list above.

Please help me with my homework
Alona [7]

so for A it is 16 times as large because the area is 3*3 which is 9 but since it is a triangle the area is halved and is 4.5 and divide 72 by 4.5 which gives us 16

then for b I believe that the scale factor is 4

and for C it is asking for the bottom side of the scaled copy not of triangle A and 4*3=12 so the bottom is 12

ok now its complete =)
