Y = 2x^2 - 5x
y = x(2x - 5)

x intercepts:-

x(2x - 5) = 0 so these are 0 and 5/2  = 2.5  That is at points (0,0) and (2.5,0)
(Answer)

y-intercept  is when x = 0   so its at 2(x)^2 - 5(0)  = 0

y intercept at (0,0) Answer

Turning point:-

the x coordinate will be at (2.5 -0 / 2 = 1.25
y coordinate is at  2(1.25^2) - 5*1.25 = -3.125

Turning point is at (11.25,-3.125) Answer

The swimming pool at Spring Valley High School is a rectangle with a width of 65
tatiyna

Answer:

The area of the tiled floor is given by:

area =  (190m)*w + 4*w^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember that the area of a rectangle of length L and width W is equal to:

A = W*L

For the case of the problem, we want to find the area of the tiled floor.

Then we need to find the difference between the area of the pool including the tiled floor and the area of the pool alone.

We know that the length of the tiled floor is w.

Then if the length of the pool is 30m, the length of the pool including the tiled floor is 30m + 2*w (because we have tiles in both sides)

And if the width of the pool is 65m, then the width of the pool including the tiled floor is 65m + 2*w

Now we want to find the difference between these areas, we have:

Area of the pool alone = 65m*30m = 1950m^2

Area of the pool including the tiles = (65m + 2*w)*(30m + 2*w)

The difference is:

D =  (65m + 2*w)*(30m + 2*w) - 1950m^2

D = 65m*30m + 65m*2w + 30m*2w + 4*w^2 - 1950m^2

D = (65m + 30m)*2w + 4*w^2 + (65m*30m -  1950m^2)

D = 95m*2w + 4*w^2

D = (190m)*w + 4*w^2

This is the area of the tiled floor.

Solve the proportion for x
STatiana [176]

Answer:

X = 3

,

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{32}{24}  =  \frac{4}{x}  \\ 32x = 4 \times 24 \\ x =  \frac{4 \times 24}{32}  \\ x = 3

There were 85 erasers in box a and 15 erasers in box
kolbaska11 [484]
There were 20 erasers added to each box, because 15 plus 20 is 35. 85 plus 20 is 105, and 35 times 3 is 105. This means that there are 35 erasers in box B after adding 20, and 105 erasers in box A after adding 20. I hope this helps you!

Find the given limit lim(x,y)→(a,a)x4−y4x2−y2=lim(x,y)→(a,a) (x^4−y^4)/(x2−y2)= here aa is a constant. (find the limit assuming
Aliun [14]
If x\neq y, then we can write

\dfrac{x^4-y^4}{x^2-y^2}=\dfrac{(x^2-y^2)(x^2+y^2)}{x^2-y^2}=x^2+y^2

and since this is continuous for all x\neq y, the limit as (x,y)\to(a,a) will be

\displaystyle\lim_{(x,y)\to(a,a)}\frac{x^4-y^4}{x^2-y^2}=\lim_{(x,y)\to(a,a)}(x^2+y^2)=2a^2
