Communism took hold in China before World War II.

True

False
scoray [572]
Under leader, Mao Zedong, the Communists had a stronghold in northwestern China. By 1945, Communists controlled much of northern china because they won the peasant’s loyalty. While north China was becoming a Communist region, southwestern China under Jiang Jieshi, was protected from the Japanese by rugged mountain ranges. The United States sent many supplies and money to help fight the Japanese. After Japan surrendered, the Nationalists and Communists resumed their fighting. Mao Zing’s victory in this battle fueled U.S. anti-Communist feelings. China had split into two nations – one was the island of Taiwan, or Nationalist China and the mainland, Republic of China.

How did the printing press impact the Reformation and allow Luther to survive?
Nimfa-mama [501]
Johann Gutenberg’s invention of the printing press around 1448 had a significant impact on the spread of ideas in Europe and beyond. Printing technology traveled quickly across Europe and, at a time of great religious change, played a key role in the success of the Protestant Reformation. Reformation leader Martin Luther could only preach to a small number of people, but the printed word could spread his message to thousands more

The printing press drastically cut the cost of producing books and other printed materials. Prior to Gutenberg’s invention, the only way of making multiple copies of a book was to copy the text by hand, an laborious and intensely time-consuming occupation usually performed by monks. The materials involved were also costly: Monks wrote on treated skins, known as vellum, and a single copy of the Bible could require 300 sheepskins or 170 calfskins. Printing onto paper made copying cheaper and faster.

Starting in the 1700’s why was the question of citizenship so important for immigrants?
fiasKO [112]

Answer:

Starting in the 1700's when the United States established not every person was a citizen but only free white men were citizens. Indian Americans and African American were not a citizen of the United States.

The question of citizenship was very important during that time because that created conflicts in society. People who are not citizens or immigrants work on low wages and faces unemployment problems. Immigrants were accused for crime, poverty and civil unrest.

So, to get value or position in society it was important for immigrants to get citizenship.
