Momaday discusses the “irony” of the term “New World” (pars. 3–4). What are his reasons for this characterization?
GREYUIT [131]

Answer: N. Scott Momaday - who is a native American himself - finds ironic that white people claimed that they were arriving into the "new world" when in reality there were ancient civilizations already living on those lands, and this claim is one that they have continued to sustain up to this day.

When Europeans arrived in 1492, there were very large Indian populations scattered all across America with a rich history and culture, an element that vastly defers the logic of the discovery of a "new world".

PROMPT: Write an essay explaining why leaders must be careful with the power they are given.
Tpy6a [65]
Thesis : It is crucial that leaders are careful with the power they receive, because if they abuse their power it could lead to corruption, rebellion, and even being overthrown.

Body paragraph: One important characteristic that is looked for in a leader is the use of powers fairly and correctly. It is such a significant quality because if leaders are careless with their powers it will lead to mayhem and disorder. One example of a leader not being careful with their powers is putting too many of their beliefs and opinions in their decisions. If they’re not careful, their decisions will be too affected and they won’t listen to what the people want. This has been seen many times in history where nation’s leaders have had complete control over decisions and decided to do whatever they please and deem right.
