Alright! When you have a constant to a power times another constant to a power (ex. [x^3 times x^3] ) you simply add the powers and keep the base [x^6]. When you have a power to a power (ex. [(12^3)^3] ) you multiply the powers and keep the base [12^9]. When you have a constant to a power divided by a constant to a power (ex. [ x^2 divided by x^5] ) you subtract the powers and keep the base. It's hard to see the questions, so I'll leave this here for you to use as a guide.

Find the product. (r s)2 r² 2rs s r² 2rs s² r² 2rs 2s².
sveta [45]

The product of the given expression is \rm 2r^3+ s^3r^3+ 2r^3s + sr^3+ 2s^3+ 6rs.

Given

The product of \rm 2r^2(r + s) + 2rs + s^2 + 2rs + s^2r^2+ 2rs + 2s^2.

What is multiplication?

Multiplication is the process of calculating the product of two or more numbers.

The multiplication of numbers say, ‘a’ and ‘b’, is stated as ‘a’ multiplied by ‘b’.

The product of \rm 2r^2(r + s) + 2rs + s^2 + 2rs + s^2r^2+ 2rs + 2s^2 is given by;

\rm 2r^2(r + s) + 2rs + s^2 + 2rs + s^2r^2+ 2rs + 2s^2\\\\(2r^3 + 2r^2s) + 2rs + 2rs + 2rs + s^2r^2 + sr^2 + 2s^2\\\\2r^3+ 2r^2s + 6rs + s^2r^2 + sr^2+ 2s^2

\rm 2r^3+ s^3r^3+ 2r^3s + sr^3+ 2s^3+ 6rs

Hence, the product of the given expression is \rm 2r^3+ s^3r^3+ 2r^3s + sr^3+ 2s^3+ 6rs.

How to do substitution or elimination
Levart [38]
I: y=(1/2)x+5
II: y=(-3/2)x-7

substitution:
fancy word for insert the definition of one variable in one equation into the other
-> isolate a variable, luckily y is isolated (even in both equations) already
-> substitute y of II into I (=copy right side of II and replace y in I with it):

(-3/2)x-7=(1/2)x+5
-3x-14=x+10
-3x-24=x
-24=4x
-6=x

-> insert x back into I (or II):
y=(1/2)x+5
=(1/2)*(-6)+5
=-3+5=2

elimination: subtract one equation from the other to eliminate a variable, again y is already isolated->no extra work required

I-II:
y-y=(1/2)x+5-[(-3/2)x-7]
0=(1/2)x+5+(3/2)x+7
0=(4/2)x+12
-12=2x
-6=x

-> insert x back into I (or II):
y=(1/2)x+5
=(1/2)*(-6)+5
=-3+5=2
