svp [43]

Answer:

the student may have made the mistake because the student was paying more attention to how many blocks he was filling in rather than how much he was filling in.

to solve the problem correctly you would just switch the decimals

0.8 > 0.08

0.8 should have 80 blocks filled

0.08 should have 8 blocks filled

The point (-7,4) in on the terminal side of an angle t. Find sec (t) to two decimal places.
Sliva [168]

Answer:

  -1.15

Step-by-step explanation:

The tangent of the angle can be found as ...

  tan(t) = (y-coordinate)/(x-coordinate) = -4/7

The secant of the angle is related by ...

  sec(t)² = tan(t)² +1 = (-4/7)² +1 = 65/49

Then the secant of this 2nd-quadrant angle is ...

  sec(t) = -√(65/49) = -(√65)/7 ≈ -1.15

An obtuse triangle is formed if there is an angle that has a measure of more than 90 degrees. You can determine if an obtuse angle is formed by two sides of a triangle if it meet this condition:

Let a and b be two sides of a triangle and c is the longest side:
a^{2}  +  b^{2}  \ \textless \   c^{2}

So taking your given:

10^{2}  +  15 ^{2} < c^{2}
100 + 225   < c^{2}
325  <  c^{2}

To get the smallest possible number, just get the square root of both sides:

\sqrt{325} < \sqrt{c^{2} }
  18.03  < c

So your smallest possible whole number is 19
