A carpenter is installing a circular light fixture with a diameter of 6 inches in the ceiling. To do this, she must cut a square

hole in the ceiling just large enough so that it will be covered by the circular light fixture. • The carpenter uses the Pythagorean theorem to help her with her calculations for the dimensions of the square. What is an accurate estimate of the length of one side of the square hole to the nearest inch? • What is the approximate perimeter of the square hole that the carpenter needs to cut? Use words, numbers, and/or pictures to show your work.

73/260 73 is what percent of 260. also 42/220 42 is what percent of 220. please help.
BlackZzzverrR [31]
73 = x(260).  Translate the word "is" as equals, and "of" as multiply.  Divide both sides by 260 (as you already did):  73/260 = x

73/260 = 28%.  (Move the decimal point two positions to the left).

42/220 = 19%.

How to reduce 10/4 i don’t know how to
vredina [299]

answer: 10/4 reduced is 2.5/1 or 2.5.

work: what we are doing is trying to divide ten into groups of four. how many times does 10 fit into four? well, look at the multiples of four, 4, 8, 12... we can see that 8 fits into ten, but 12 doesn't. that means two whole fours can fit into ten (since 4 x 2 = 8) so we still have a  2 left over from the ten. since 2 is one half of four, we can fit in another .5. so, ten can be fit into 2.5 groups. hope this helps, have a great day!

A yogurt costs 35 pence. How many yogurts can be bought with 3 pounds?
julsineya [31]
1 pound = 100 pence
3 pounds = 300 pence

35 pence = 0.35 pounds

So 300/35 = 8 yogurts (with left 35*8 = 280
300-280 = 20 pence)
