What makes one mineral harder than the other? Explain

Biology

Answer:The ones that are tightly bound together look different than do ones with looser bonds. For example, in the illustrations below, (A) shows the atomic structure of carbon in a diamond, and (B) is the carbon arrangement in graphite. (A) is more compact than (B), hence it is harder.

Explanation:Rocks are made of minerals, and different minerals have different crystal structures. The chemical bonds that hold atoms together in these minerals are stronger in some than in others, and the atoms themselves determine which bonds are stronger than others.

Answer:

The hardness of a mineral is mainly controlled by the strength of the bonding between the atoms and partly by the size of the atoms. It is a measure of the resistance of the mineral to scratching, the Mohs scale is for natural minerals.

All of the following statements about the understanding of culture in anthropology are correct except:
matrenka [14]

Answer:

The correct answer is option a. "Culture is biologically and genetically transmitted from person to person".

Explanation:

Culture is defined as the behavior, customs, social forms, arts and other manifestations of human achievement that characterize a place or group of people. Culture is transmitted through different channels in a process known as enculturation. The channels of enculturation are related with people's immigration and embracing the customs of society. Culture is NOT biologically and genetically transmitted from person to person, because culture is not the result of action of molecules or chemicals, but people acting towards and identity.

Water from precipitation that does not enter the ground but drains to surface water bodies is what?
RSB [31]

Answer:

The visible bodies of water are referred to as surface water. The majority of fresh water is actually found underground as soil moisture and in aquifers. Groundwater can feed the streams, which is why a river can keep flowing even when there has been no precipitation.
