Since we have given that

Number of miles = 36 miles

Time taken = 45 minutes

As we know the formula for:

Speed=\frac{Distance}{Time}\\\\Speed=\frac{36}{45}\times 60\\\\Speed=0.8\times 60\\\\Speed=48\ miles\ per\ hour

So, Let the total number of miles the car will travel be y miles,

and,

Number of hours be x.

Distance=Speed\times Time\\\\y=48x

Y=48x because you keep multiplying 48x36 until you multiplyed 48x36 ten times

How do i graph x-y=-3
solmaris [256]
X - y = -3
y = x + 3.......slope = 1, y intercept = (0,3)

to find x int, sub in 0 for y and solve for x
x - y = -3
x - 0 = -3
x = -3....so the x intercept = (-3,0)

plot ur points (0,3) and (-3,0)......now start at (-3,0)....and since ur slope is 1, go up one, and to the right 1, and up 1, and to the right 1.....do this over as many times as needed and u should cross the y axis at (0,3)

Answer:

(a) C = 0.29<em>t</em> + 2.50

(b) 5

Step-by-step explanation:

The variables are defined as follows:

<em>t</em> = the number of  toppings

<em>C</em> = total cost for ice cream

It is provided that:

  • An ice cream with no toppings is $2.50.
  • Every topping is priced at $0.29 each.

(a)

The algebraic equation to find the total cost for ice cream depending on the number of  toppings is:

C = 0.29<em>t</em> + 2.50

(b)

Compute the number of toppings Mr. Torrance can buy if  he wants to spend only $4.00 on it as follows:

C = 0.29<em>t</em> + 2.50

4.00 = 0.29<em>t</em> + 2.50

0.29<em>t</em> = 4.00 - 2.50

0.29<em>t</em> = 1.50

<em>t</em> = 5.1724

<em>t</em> ≈ 5

Thus, Mr. Torrance can buy 5 toppings.
