When finding the slope using two points, you’re going to use y2-y1/x2-x1 so in this case it would be 1-(-7)/9-4 which would be 8/5 or b. when you subtract a negative, it turns to positive which is why it wouldn’t be negative up top. hope this helps!

How is a scatter plot that shows no correlation different from a scatter plot that shows a negative correlation?
Crank
A scatter plot that has no correlation shows points that a trend line cannot be drawn through and that their is no correlation between the X values and Y values. A scatter plot with a negative correlation has a correlation between the X and y values where as X increases why decreases. A trend line with a negative slope can also be drawn on a negative correlation scatter plot.

Hope that helped or even made sense

I gave my brother 1/5 of my candy, 1/4 to my friend and had 11 pieces left over. How many pieces did I give my brother?
AnnyKZ [126]

x = total number of candies

\bf \stackrel{\textit{my brother}}{\cfrac{1}{5}x}+\stackrel{\textit{my friend}}{\cfrac{1}{4}x}+11~~=~~\stackrel{\textit{total}}{x} \\\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{multiplying both sides by }\stackrel{LCD}{20}}{20\left( \cfrac{x}{5}+\cfrac{x}{4}+11 \right)=20(x)}\implies 4x+5x+220=20x\implies 9x+220=20x \\\\\\ 220=11x\implies \cfrac{220}{11}=x\implies 20=x~\hspace{10em}\stackrel{\textit{to my brother}}{\cfrac{20}{5}\implies 4}
