Hi,

1 cubic yard = 27 cubit feet

Then we must find the no. of cubic yards .... for 1 cubic yard = $98 for "x" cubic yard = $58.07 1/x =98/58.07 x = 0.5925

Now we have to convert this in to cubic feet... 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet 0.5925 cubic yard = x cubic feet 1/0.5925= 27/x x = 15 .99

cubic feet now width x height x length = 16 cubic feet w x 8 x (1/3) = 16 w = 48/8 = 6 feet yep!

there for the width of the yard is approximately 6 feet.. hope this will help ya !

Hi there

Let x be the number of miles Karly biked
Dory biked 11 times as many miles as Karly, therefor, Dory = 11x
The total number of miles back by both is 156
The equation will be:
11x + x = 156
Before we can get the number of miles Dory biked, we must first get the number of miles
Karly biked represented by x.
Get the x
12x = 156
12x/12 = 156/12
x = 13
Karly = x = 13 miles biked
Dory = 11x = 11(13) = 143 miles biked
to check:
11x + x = 156
11(13) + 13 = 156
143 + 13 = 156
156 = 156
 i hope it helps have a nice day:)

Triangle A E C is shown. Line segment B D is drawn near point C to form triangle B D C.
AVprozaik [17]

∠BDC and ∠AED are right angles, is a piece of additional information is appropriate to prove △ CEA ~ △ CDB

Triangle AEC is shown. Line segment B, D is drawn near point C to form triangle BDC.

What are Similar triangles?

Similar triangles, are those triangles which have similar properties,i.e. angles and proportionality of sides.

Image is attached below,
as shown in figure
∡ACE = ∡BCD ( common angle )
∡AED = ∡BDC ( since AE and BD are perpendicular to same line EC and make right angles as E and C)
∡EAC =- ∡DBC ( corresponding angles because AE and BD are parallel lines)

Thus, △CEA ~ △CDB , because of the two perpendiculars AE and BD.
