Alright soo complementary means the two add up to 90. So number 1 is commentary but 2 is not.
Supplementary means they add to 180. So number 3 is but 4 isn’t.
Hope this helps!

1 is correct for complementary angles and 1 is also correct for supplementary angles. A complementary angle is when two measures of 2 different angles equal 90 same goes for supplementary angles but they have to equal 180

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define Equation

3.5(x + 12) = -2x + 18

Step 2: Solve for x

  1. Distribute 3.5: 3.5x + 42 = -2x + 18
  2. Add 2x on both sides: 5.5x + 42 = 18
  3. Isolate x term: 5.5x = -24
  4. Isolate x: x = -4.36364
