The vapor pressure of a liquid __________.
mash [69]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

The tendency of a liquid to convert to vapour increases smoothly with increasing temperature. Vapour pressure shows the tendency of a liquid to convert to vapour. Increase In vapour pressure shows an increased tendency to convert to vapour. The higher the temperature, the higher the vapour pressure.

B. the radioactive atom decays by alpha emission. write an equation showing the decay. (1 point)
zalisa [80]

alpha decay is an emission of ₂⁴He nucleus. If an element undergoes an alpha decay, the mass of the daughter nucleus formed is reduced by 4 compared to mass of parent atom and atomic number is reduced by 2 compared to atomic number of parent atom.

Let's assume that the parent atom is X, atomic number is z and mass number is A. Then the formed daughter nucleus, Y should have atomic number as z-2 and mass number as A-4.

The equation is

(z) (A)X → ₂⁴α + (z-2)(A-4)Y

Example:

₉₄²³⁹Pu → ₂⁴α + ₉₂²³⁵U

The heat of solution is found by adding a salt to water in a calorimeter and measuring the temperature change. The specific heat
melomori [17]

Answer:

The heat of the solution of salt is 1.66.11 J/g.

Explanation:

Mass of the water = m = 46.52 g

Initial temperature of the water = T_1=22.83 ^oC

Final temperature of the water = T_2=18.98^oC

The specific heat of water, c = 4.180 J/gºC

Heat associated with water on dissolving salt: q

Q=mc(T_2-T_1)

Q=46.52 g\times 4.180 J/g&oC\times (18.98^oC-22.83 ^oC)

Q=-748.65 J

Negative sign means that heat was lost by water on an addition of a salt.

Heat released on dissolving of salt = -Q = 748.65 J

Mass of salt added = 4.5069 g

Heat of the solution of salt :

= \frac{-Q}{ 4.5069 g}=\frac{748.65 J}{ 4.5069 g}=1.66.11 J/g

The heat of the solution of salt is 1.66.11 J/g.

0.103 g of Zn(s) is combined with 50.0 mL HCl in a reaction vessel, the temperature changes from 22.5oC to 23.7oC. What is the Δ
Margarita [4]
Given:

0.103 grams of Zinc (solid)
50 ml of HCl
Density of HCl = 1.0 g/mL
Initial Temperature (Ti) = 22.5 C
Final Temperature (Tf) = 23.7 C

Solve for the mass of HCl:

50 mL * 1.0 g/mL = 50 g

Assume that the Cp for HCl is similar to the Cp of water:

q = mCpdT
 = mCp (Tf - Ti)
 = 50 g * 4.18 J/gC * (23.7 - 22.5)
q = 250.8 J = H
