The heat of solution is found by adding a salt to water in a calorimeter and measuring the temperature change. The specific heat

of water is 4.180 Joules per g per ºC. In the calculation of the heat of solution, ignore the contribution to specific heat and mass due to the salt. Assume that these contributions are negligible. The data collected are as follows:
Grams of water in the calorimeter 46.52
Grams of salt 4.5069
Initial temperature of water 22.83 ºC
Final Temperature 18.98 ºC

Calculate the following Heat of the solution of salt.

Answer:

The heat of the solution of salt is 1.66.11 J/g.

Explanation:

Mass of the water = m = 46.52 g

Initial temperature of the water = T_1=22.83 ^oC

Final temperature of the water = T_2=18.98^oC

The specific heat of water, c = 4.180 J/gºC

Heat associated with water on dissolving salt: q

Q=mc(T_2-T_1)

Q=46.52 g\times 4.180 J/g&oC\times (18.98^oC-22.83 ^oC)

Q=-748.65 J

Negative sign means that heat was lost by water on an addition of a salt.

Heat released on dissolving of salt = -Q = 748.65 J

Mass of salt added = 4.5069 g

Heat of the solution of salt :

= \frac{-Q}{ 4.5069 g}=\frac{748.65 J}{ 4.5069 g}=1.66.11 J/g

The heat of the solution of salt is 1.66.11 J/g.

Which of the following is least likely to increase the rate of diffusion?A small concentration gradientB higher concentration of
Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer: Option (A) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Rate of diffusion is defined as the total movement of molecules from a region of higher concentration to lower concentration.

The interaction between medium and the material is responsible for the rate of diffusion of a material or substance.

A small concentration gradient means small difference in the number of molecules taking part in a reaction. So, when there no large difference between the concentration then there won't be much difference in the rate of diffusion of a material.

Whereas a higher concentration of molecules will lead to more number of collisions due to which frequency of molecules increases. Therefore, rate of diffusion will also increase.

Small molecule size will also lead to increases in rate of diffusion. This is because according to Graham's law rate of diffusion is inversely proportional to molar mass of an element. Hence, smaller size molecule will have smaller mass. As a result, rate of diffusion will be more.

High temperature means more kinetic energy of molecules due to which more number of collisions will be there. Hence, rate of diffusion will also increase.

Thus, we can conclude that out of the given options a small concentration gradient  is least likely to increase the rate of diffusion.

8). How many moles of oxygen gas must be placed in a 35.0 L container in order
klemol [59]

Answer:

4.1 moles

Explanation:

Applying

PV = nRT................ equation 1

Where P = pressure, V = volume, n = number of moles, R = molar gas constant, T = Temperature.

make n the subject  of the equation

n = PV/RT.............. Equation 2

From the question,

Given: V = 35 L , P = 2.8 atm, T = 15 °C  = (15+273) = 288 K, R = 0.083 L.atm/K.mol

Substitute these values into equation 2

n = (35×2.8)/(0.083×288)

n = 4.1 moles

A(n) _______________ can be formed by linking together several monosaccharides via glycosidic bonds.
mario62 [17]

Answer:

A polysaccharide (n) can be formed by linking several monosaccharides through glycosidic linkages.

Explanation:

Polysaccharides are carbohydrates or complex carbohydrates, where monosaccharides join with glucosidic bonds to form a more complex structure that would be the polysaccharide.

An example of a polysaccharide is starch, or glycogen.

Starch is found in many foods such as potatoes or rice, and glycogen is a form of energy reserve of our organism housed in muscles and liver to fulfill locomotion, physical activity, and other activities that consist of glycolysis.

Polysaccharides are degraded in our body by different stages, and several enzymes unlike monosoccharides or disaccharides, since they have more unions and a more complex structure to disarm in our body and thus assimilate it.

Polysaccharides are also part of animal structures, such as insect shells or nutritional sources, among others.

Balance the chemical equation.Au plus HC l plus HNO 3 right arrow AuC l Subscript 3 Baseline plus NO plus Upper H 2 Upper OAu+HC
tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:

Au+ 3HCl + HNO_3 \to AuCl_3+NO+2H_2O

Explanation:

Chemical Equations are representations of chemical reactions in terms of the symbols and formulae of the elements and compounds involved. A chemical equation usually have the reactant at the left hand side while the product is on the right hand side.

A chemical Equation is of little or no value if is not in balanced equation. When an equation is balanced , the total number of atoms of any element on the left-hand side of it must be equal to the total number of atoms of that element on the right hand side.

in the given question; we are given a word problem of chemical symbol to  compute and also to balance the chemical equation.

From below; the chemical equation can be written as:

Au+ HCl + HNO_3 \to AuCl_3+NO+2H_2O

From the above  equation we will notice  that  it is not truly balanced ; so th balanced equation can be written as:

Au+ 3HCl + HNO_3 \to AuCl_3+NO+2H_2O

The nucleus of the atom contains what subatomic particle(s)? Protons only Neutrons only Electrons only Protons and neutrons Prot
lakkis [162]
Hello,

The answer is option C protons and neutrons.

Reason:

The middle of the nucleus contains the protons and the neutrons which contain the positive and electrical charges which decides the element which means option C will be your answer.
