There are many disciplines which are to be followed in track event. Sprint event, running event, jumps test all these have different disciplines.

Explanation:

The men and women games often have different disciplines. The track event has a 500 meter or long race in which there are certain rules which needs to be followed to be in the tournament. There can be hurdle race which has more rules to be followed and any deviation from these rules may lead to disqualification.
