The resultant vector can be solve using the pythagorean theorem
c^2 = a^2 + b^2
where c is the resultant vector
a and b are her individual trip

c^2 = 30^2 + 18^2
c^2 = 1224
c = 35 miles

angle = arctan ( 30 /18)
angle = 59 degrees
so the resultant vector is 35 miles 59 degrees south of east

Answer:

The resultant vector is 35 miles.

Explanation:

Given that,

Monica took a train 30 miles south to Cincinnati. Then she took a different train 18 miles east.

A = 30 miles

B = 18 miles

According to figure,

We calculate the resultant vector

R^2=A^2+B^2

R =\sqrt{30^2+18^2}

R=34.98

R = 35\ miles

Hence, The resultant vector is 35 miles.

You are sharing a house with a few roommates. One of them plays on the basketball team, and is exactly 200 cm tall. The heights
Advocard [28]

Answer:

119 cm

Explanation:

Given heights :  200cm , 188 cm , 175 cm, 160 cm

since the eyes are at 95% level

95% of 200 cm = 190 cm

95% of 160 cm = 152 cm

hence the allowable height of mirror = 200 - ( 5 + 76 ) = 119 cm

and The mirror should be hung 75cm from the floor

Ifa truck starts from rest and it has acceleration of 4 m/s for 5 second
yan [13]

Answer:

Distance 50m

final velocity 20ms^-1

s = ut +  \frac{1}{2} a {t}^{2}  \\  = 0 \times t +  \frac{1}{2} \times 4 \times  {5}^{2}   = 50m

v = u + at \\ v = 0 + 4 \times 5 \\ v = 20ms^{ - 1}

A 20-kg block slides down a fixed rough curved track The block has a speed of 5 0 m/s after its height above a horizontal surfac
Crank

Answer:

U = 102.8 J (100 J to two significant digits)

Explanation:

potential energy converted = 20(9.8)(1.8) = 352.8 J

kinetic energy at base of track = ½(20)5.0² = 250 J

energy (work) of friction 352.8 - 250 = 102.8 J
